Jewel-Osco P&G Update! (Just Got Back From Shopping!)

So last night I told you how the Jewel ad indicated that we would be able to get almost free Puffs Tissues, Mr. Clean and Febreze after the Buy 3 participating products, Get $5 Instant Savings deal. I went first thing this morning and did each transaction separately (just to be sure of what was happening) at the Self Checkout. First I tried 3 Puffs. No credit applied. I asked a cashier and she said to go ahead with the transaction and Customer Service would credit me. Next I tried Mr. Clean. No credit applied. That time the first cashier was busy, so the nice Customer Service lady came over to apply my coupon. She gave me a $5 discount manually and I paid. Last I tried 3 Febreze Air Effects. No credit applied. The customer service lady did the same thing.

When I was done (and had gotten the $5 from my first transaction), I talked a bit with the manager and Customer Service cashier. They already knew that there was a problem with the deal, but they weren’t sure what. I have a feeling that the ad is misleading in that it says “Look for tags on participating P&G products” and NOT that the products pictured were included, but it’s pretty uncool to print an ad with so many products in that section and not include them in the sale.

My inkling is that only the Tide, Bounty and Charmin (listed at the top of the sale) are included, but I’m not sure. They said that they already knew that Dawn and Cascade weren’t working and now we knew that what I purchased also wasn’t. When I left they had a call out to corporate to ask about what was going on. I will be calling them in a few hours and I’ll update you when I know more! Did you shop yet this morning? How did it go?
