Many of you know about the Shopmium app, although I don’t mention it very often. I haven’t been a huge fan and their changes just reinforce that position. As of May 11, 2016 they are changing the following things per the email I received (and you may have too):
- “We want to incentivize you to discover their products, but unfortunately can’t continue to sponsor free products or “money makers”.
- “To continue bringing great brands to Shopmium, we have decided to enforce our “stacking prevention policy.” This means that rebate requests for products where manufacturer coupons have been applied will be denied.”
- Several retailer receipts don’t provide enough information to allow our system to properly validate rebates. Therefore, we won’t be able to accept receipts from the following retailers and affiliated stores anymore: Kroger Company (Kroger, Harris Teeter, Ralphs, King Soopers, Fry’s, Fred Meyer), CVS/ Pharmacy, Publix, Meijer, Baker’s Supermarkets, City Market, Copp’s, Dillons Food Stores, Dillons Marketplace, Fry’s Food & Drug, Foods Co., Food 4 Less, Fresh Market, Gerbes Super Markets, GreenWise, Jay C, Kwik Shop, Loaf ‘N Jug, Mariano’s, Metro Market, Owen’s, Pay Less Super Markets, Pick ‘n Save, Publix Sabor, QFC, Roundy’s, Ruler Foods, Scott’s, Smith’s, Smith’s Marketplace, Smith’s Express, Tom Thumb Food Stores, Turkey Hill Minit Markets
Please consider these changes when submitting your receipts! There are other coupon apps that are valuable and helpful, so you can check out 5 coupon saving apps that you should be using here.
