One of the first thing I would recommend that you do if you want to dive into the coupon world is save your Sunday coupon inserts. They generally fall into 3 categories: SmartSource, Red Plum, and P&G. There are different ways that people organize, but the basic rule is not to throw away the booklet. Cut whatever you want out. Cut whatever you’ll use daily and carry it with you. Then store the booklet somewhere safe.
This being August, I find myself using my inserts from June and July pretty often. I have used my coupons from February as well. Get a box. Get some folders. Keep your inserts.
Above is a pic of my coupon binder that I keep with me during the day (you never know when you’re going to pop into a store!) I have each section labeled by grocery area and individual envelopes in the front organized by store. These are where I can store the coupons for the trip I’m about to make.

Do what works best for you! Some people cut all of the coupons in all the inserts and take them along in their car (usually filed in a baseball card type binder). This would enable you to never miss a clearance deal, but it has never worked for me. That doesn’t mean that it won’t work for you, though. Try different methods.
