Sonos Play 3 And Sonos Bridge Sound System Giveaway! (A $299 Value!)

Have you heard of the Sonos Play:3 All-in-One Wireless Music Player? This is an amazing piece of technology! Sonos brings big HiFi sound in a compact size, with the flexibility to stream a different song, station or playlist in every single room— so you can turn the classical music on in the kids’ room while you enjoy your favorite 80’s tunes in the kitchen! And no matter where you are, control the system directly from your Android phone or tablet, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or PC with the free Sonos Controller apps. You start with the small, tuck-in-a-corner and blow off the roof all-in-one SONOS PLAY:3 and wirelessly connect it to the SONOS BRIDGE to stream music everywhere you are!

I got the opportunity to try out the Sonos Play:3 and Bridge recently and I am thoroughly impressed! As much as I enjoyed it, my husband was in love. When we got the box, he disappeared into his office with it, only ran out to get my phone and then finally let me try it out half an hour later when he emerged with a huge smile.

This thing is cool. It looks like a small, compact speaker with only a few tiny buttons on it. You pull up the app from your phone or computer, select your music of choice and suddenly it begins to play! It’s very clear and we were actually just commenting that it’s a bit unbelievable that the sound that we hear is coming out of such a small speaker. It’s impressive.

My husband wanted to be sure that I conveyed his notes on the Sonos, so here you go (he LOVES technology):

  • The build quality and overall product design are easily on-par with Apple products.  Both components are very solidly built and attractive.
  • The setup instructions are provided, but minimal.  That’s OK, since all you really do is install a very small piece of software on your home computer and then push a button on each component.  They then configure themselves from there.  Absolutely no network configuration is required.  Its all automatic.
  • The Play:3 portion has no cables to worry about.  You literally just plug it into a wall outlet and go.
  • The Sonos system will access your music regardless of how it is stored:  stored locally on a home PC (this is how ours is setup) (Windows or MacOS), stored in a cloud service such as Amazon’s or in a subscription-based service like Spotify.  Every conceivable option is supported by Sonos.
  • The Sonos system is designed with the idea of multiple player locations in mind.  Adding a component to another room is as easy as plugging it in and pressing a self-configuration button on the component itself.
  • The Android app (and I assume the iOS app is the same) is easy to use and equally as seamless.
  • Bonus: if your music is stored in a cloud service or you just want to access streaming services or radio stations, your PC doesn’t even have to be turned on!
  • The only con is that you pay a bit of a price for the simplicity of the hardware design. You do need some other electronic device (smart phone, tablet, PC, etc) to control your music since the components themselves have no interface on them other than volume. That being said, as long as you keep your computer, SmartPhone, etc. charged, you can control your music from the bathroom if you wanted! (Bubble bath anyone?)

To sum this up, we both highly recommend it. We have enjoyed using it with absolutely no problems, except when I forgot to charge my phone. My solution? Plug the phone in, wait 10 seconds and then access the system from my phone on the charger. If I was smarter, I would have already had the app set up on my computer as well. That being said, the music is very clear and the unit takes up almost no space with it’s sleek design. I’m very impressed.

To get everyone in the mood to dance, I am giving one very lucky winner a SONOS PLAY:3 and SONOS BRIDGE (a $299 value!!)
