Let me tell you a little bit about Safe Haven! When I first saw the previews for it, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to see it or not. I’m a huge fan of The Notebook, but I also knew that The Lucky Ones didn’t get great reviews and they’re both by Nicholas Sparks. That being said, all of his stories have a similar premise – girl and boy find each other and find a way to make it through to the end despite the odds. I am a little sappy though, so I thought I’d take a chance.
I’m actually still not sure if I liked the film. I really like both Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel and they have a nice chemistry. They have a really cute interaction that makes it’s way through the film as they come together. I don’t want to ruin anything for you, but the end had me doing a double take. And not for a good reason! I still think about it and say, “HUH??” Now, I’m sure that this twist that I can’t expand on makes a lot more sense in the book than the movie, so you might want to read the book first (it’s $4.99 on Kindle!). I’m guessing that is the way to go. THEN dive into the movie and decide what you think.
Did you see Safe Haven? What did you think of it?
