My kids are Play-Doh kids. And I know that they are not alone, since Play-Doh seems to be a constant for as long as I can remember. We played with it as kids, argued about mixing colors and sneakily tasted it so that our mom wouldn’t find out. I see my kids doing the same thing. The biggest difference that I do see in the land of Play-Doh, though, is the accessories! Kids have all kinds of cool Play-Doh options to play with these days.
One of the most recent kits that Play-Dohl has come out with is the new Play-Doh Mega Fun Factory. This very neat Play-Doh kit comes with 6 cans of Play-Doh that can be stored right inside the Factory holes. The Factory itself has several areas of play. There is a section for pressing out a little “Lollipop guy,” two gears that contain various mold designs, two places to cut your Play-Doh, and a a container that sits at the end of the Factory to collect your creations.
The absolutely coolest thing about this Factory, however, is that it’s a conveyor belt! With two C batteries you can watch the belt and your Play-Doh move as you use all the gadgets in the factory. The belt stops as you click the molds in place or cut your Doh, but starts right back up again as you release the handle.
Play-Doh was generous enough to send me a Play-Doh Mega Fun Factory to try out and my kids have been playing with it all weekend. My 2-year old daughter had me cracking up this morning with her squeals of delight as she pressed each lever along the factory. After she had been successful in each endeavor (cutting, molding, etc) and watched her creation move along, she’d start squealing and jumping up and down in delight. This was AFTER she had been playing with it all day yesterday.
After watching my kids play with the Play-Doh Mega Fun Factory, I am a big fan. They really love it. They thought it was fun when the conveyor belt wasn’t moving, but as soon as it started up, they became obsessed. You might want to consider one of these for the holidays!
