I just got home from doing the Pantene deal at CVS and it didn’t work out the way it should have! I purchased nine bottles of Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner (different varieties, but all marked 3/$10) and had them rung up at the register. They each rang for $3.33 or $3.34 and totaled $30 when I was finished. I used 3 $5/3 Pantene coupons from today’s 12/28 P&G as well as various Extra Care Bucks that I had from previous weeks. When my receipt printed out, it said that I had spent $13.34 towards the deal and had to purchase $16.66 more in order to get my $10 ECB (for purchasing $30 total). My cashier and I went over and over the transaction (this is someone I am friendly with and who is always there on Sunday mornings when I shop) and she ultimately printed out the $10 ECB to give me for this deal. I have NO CLUE what the register is thinking, so be careful! A few things to note:
- Manufacturer’s coupons CAN be used in transactions that yield Extra Care Bucks
- Your total on items must reach the threshold (in this case $30) before coupons are applied
- Extra Care Bucks used to pay for any transaction do not affect your receiving new Extra Care Bucks
My assumption is that one of my Pantene varieties is somehow not linked to the P&G deal, but they are all ringing at the correct price. Be careful when you shop!! If you want a refresher on this deal, be sure to visit my CVS shop suggestion and you’ll see it laid out for you. Happy shopping!!
