What is a verified diner you ask? Following a validation of a Restaurant.com certificate, the diner that purchased the deal is prompted to award the restaurant a star rating and post their feedback. Only individuals that purchased and redeemed a Restaurant.com certificate at that restaurant are invited to submit reviews. This verification process ensures the reviews are not written by competitors, proprietors, or others with a biased agenda. Additionally, the stars are awarded by diners, not anonymous Web users, making Restaurant.com the place to go for honest feedback on where to eat.
Here is the thing to remember about reviews everywhere: Everyone has different expectations. What may be a deal-breaker for you may be perfectly acceptable for me. Don’t let the reviews of other people be the gold standard right off the bat. Read a few to get a general impression. If three had excellent customer service, but one felt that the server wasn’t on par, perhaps it’s worth it to give it a shot. Everyone has a bad day OR maybe that reviewer was super demanding. There’s no way to tell! Just look at reviews as a guide rather than black & white facts. And after you visit the restaurant, be sure to chime in so that others can benefit the way you did!
