Oh Walgreens, how you frustrate us! When I saw that the best deals this week were at Walgreens, I have to tell you that I started to dread the idea of shopping! Isn’t that terrible??? Shopping there shouldn’t be so difficult! Luckily it actually wasn’t too bad. A few things though:
- The two Walgreens I went to had only 2 Listerine Pocketpaks on the shelf and NO Reach Floss. There weren’t even tags for them. Um… okay. So I have two coupons that I’ll be carrying around this week while I look for more free Listerine and floss.
- The Yes To lip balms that I found were all on clearance. Because of that, the register didn’t ring them up B1G1 50% off and the cashier wasn’t interested in listening to the fact that they were on sale. I didn’t want to argue, so I bought them for $2.89 each. It still turned into a good deal after the $5/$10 coupon, but the register wouldn’t accept it. I took them off my order and she rung them up completely separately. The register didn’t accept the coupon, so she entered it manually and told me that I could not use my RR for the purchase even though I had 4 lip balms and one coupon. Again, *sigh* but okay. It’s just not worth arguing over some of these things.
- When I purchased the Gas-X, my $10/3 coupon wouldn’t ring. It scanned, but wouldn’t deduct money. I explained to her gently that I wasn’t supposed to get overage, so the register probably didn’t like the coupon. Could she please deduct $8.97 manually since the $2 Wags coupon had already taken off $6? After I asked twice and she politely ignored me, I stopped talking. Then the line began to form and she deducted the full $10. Was she supposed to do that? No. Was I about to argue. No. Especially after I’d explained twice already!

My entire shop today cost me $3.78! The Revlon Emery Boards at my CVS were actually more expensive than the clippers, so the clippers were my best bet for my Chicago market. Hopefully you’ll have some cheaper options in your area! Good luck with your shops this week and I hope this gives you some ideas of what you can do!
