This week’s shop was pretty short and sweet for me. A little “shorter” than I expected, but sometimes you just have to roll with what is in stock! I had planned to pick up the free Kellogg’s Shakes and free Oral-B at Walgreens, but because I didn’t get a chance to shop until the late afternoon, shelves were bare at my store. I’ll probably pop into a Walgreens midweek to see if I can find some, but because I don’t have any Register Rewards that I have to roll until next week, I’m not that worried about it. CVS actually did have almost everything I needed. There were two Almay Softies left on the shelf (in blue – I’ll try it!), so I’ll have to stop by another CVS later this week as well. I don’t wear a ton of makeup, but even I’m not going to pass up free eye shadow. Someone can use it!
One thing about the Almay Softies – the shelf price at my CVS was $4.99, but I only noticed when I checked the receipt that they rang up at B1G1 50% Off for $5.29 (!!!???) I didn’t notice this on the screen because I was busy trying to explain to the cashier that she needed to reduce my coupon to $7.48 (rather than the $8 face value of the coupons) She chose to scan them and put the entire $8 through anyway (not as a gesture, but rather it seemed that she was tired of people telling her how to do her job. I get it!) As it turns out, it’s good that she didn’t listen to me! The price of my $5.29 B1G1 50% off eye shadow was a total of $7.93, so I would have ended up paying $.45 for it rather than getting it for free. In this case I got $.07 in overage and they will get the full $8 refund. I wasn’t going to argue it again after the fact. I WILL be calling the store tomorrow to let them know about their pricing error, however! Here’s what I did today:
CVS
2 Almay Softies B1G1 50% off for $5.29 (Used 2 $4 Almay from 6/1 SS)
1 Post Honey Bunches of Oats $2.49 (Used $1 from June All You Magazine)
1 Tena Pads $3.49 (Used $1 Tena Product coupon (zip 51501)
1 York Peppermint Pattie $1.19
2 Ban Total Refresh Cloths $3.49 each (Used 2 $2 from 6/1 SS)
Also used $7.45 in ECB from previous weeks
Paid $.63 plus tax, Got $1 ECB from Honey Bunches, $2.50 ECB from Tena, $4 ECB from Ban and $1.19 York from SavingStar
Final Price: $.61 Moneymaker
Walgreens
Nothing because everything was out of stock!
I absolutely HAD to spend that $7.45 ECB today because it was about to expire, so I went for the Tena Pads. I had planned to buy the liners (liners are liners!), but apparently the size on sale is not available at any of the three stores in my area. That’s alright – these will make a great donation item and I got to roll my ECB. Everybody wins. I hope my shop gives you some ideas, but be sure to check my CVS and Walgreens shop suggestion for a few others! Happy shopping this week! 🙂
