My Wags Shop Today And A Fantastic New Moneymaker

December 29, 2009 By Alli

I honestly had no intention of going to Wags this week, but with all the developments I thought I’d go in while I got my oil changed. Better than sitting in the waiting room with the kids! Plus, I had read about a new “possibly working” RR deal with the Bayer Meters that I didn’t want to mention until I had tried it – and it worked!!

Here’s what I did:

Transaction #1

1 Breeze 2 Glucose Meter ($14.99)
1 Contour Glucose Meter ($14.99)

I used
1 “Up to $30” coupon (I offered the second and they would take it! More in a sec…)

Final Price: $.67
I got back $13 RR (2 $5 form Meters, $3 Bayer deal)
Total Cost: I made $12.33

Here’s the deal – The monthly RR deals include the $5 RR for a purchase of a Bayer Glucose Meters. Well, apparently when you buy two it also kicks in the for the $3 Aleve, Alka Seltzer, Bayer, etc. RR deal! So, if you buy one of each of the glucose meters in the same transaction, you get $13 RR back!

I also had another “moment” with the cashier over my coupons. My subtotal rang up to $29.98 for the two meters. I handed over my first coupon (with my second in site) and she scrutinized it. After she explained why she couldn’t take the coupon, I explained that I had done it before and that she should only give me credit for the sale price of the meter with each coupon. She then called the manager who explained that she should only credit $29.98 and that I would be responsible for the tax. I again tried to offer my second coupon, but neither was interested so I stopped talking. They gave me the $29.98 credit with the one coupon and sent me on my way. When the cashier saw all of the RR print, she promptly informed me that if I returned the meters I would have to return those as well. I thanked her and went on with my shop. I would never do that, but I wasn’t about to continue the conversation.

Transaction #2

2 Sally Hansen tweezers
2 Honey Nut Cheerios

I used
1 B1G1 Sally Hansen tool coupon
2 $1 Honey Nut Cheerios coupons

Final Price: $2.35
I got back $2 RR
Total Cost: $.35

I can now verify for you that you do not have to buy the milk for the $2 RR to print! So, you can use the $1 coupons to get 2 for free or the $1/2 to get them for $.50 each. I’m going back later this week to stock up!
