I ran to Jewel today after dropping my son off at camp. This is when I find time for these things.
Let me start by saying that the people at the Six Corners Jewel couldn’t possibly be any nicer. Many of the shelves were still bare and two of the employees tag teamed and went in the back to find me what I was looking for. So nice. Then I had a problem with some of my CAT’s not printing out and the manager didn’t skip a beat with refunding me my money. More details on that in a bit.
Today I bought:
6 22oz Hellman’s Mayo
12 Knorr Plus Veggies
3 bananas (because the baby was screaming for them)
Total = 28.45
I used 4 $1/3 Knorr coupons and 1 .60 Hellman’s coupon
New total = 23.85
I paid with $23 in CAT’s that I had already and .85 in change.
I was supposed to receive $30 in CAT’s (for the Knorr and the Hellmans), but only $15 came out. The manager looked at the ad and said it was because I had done two deals in the same transaction. For many deals you can only do one deal per transaction. For some reason, this one does allow you to do multiple and get the CAT’s (I have done this at least 3 times). But I certainly wasn’t going to argue. I asked her if I could give them back the 6 Hellman’s and I would take back $15 in the CAT’s that I had given them. She instead returned the Hellman’s and gave me $15.34 in cash back. VERY NICE and not that common.
One note on why the CAT’s didn’t print. Upon looking at my receipt, some of the Knorr packets that I picked up were not the $2.70 shelf price ones. They were in the wrong place. If you do this deal, make sure you are buying the ones with a shelf price of approximately $2.70 (they vary a bit by store), not the ones that are $1.20 shelf price. This is the reason my second CAT’s didn’t print.
So all in all, I paid 23.85 in CAT’s and cash, got back 15.34 and $15 in cash. Which means I made a profit of $6.49. Not too shabby!
I’ll have to go back for those Hellman’s tomorrow.
How did you do?
