My Jewel And Walgreens Shops Today

With the $2 Nature’s Bounty moneymaker up and running at Walgreens, I took the kids out on a “shopping walk” this morning to pick up a few things. There wasn’t a lot that I needed at Jewel since we just picked up some tofu and produce at our local Asian market yesterday, but I wanted to get in on the Quaker Oatmeal deal before things got too busy and I couldn’t get there.

Here’s what I did:

Walgreens

Transaction #1

1 Nature’s Bounty Vitamin D (Used $2 Nature’s Bounty printable coupon)

Final Price: $3.11
I got back $5 RR
Total Cost: I made $1.89

Transaction #2

1 U By Kotex $3.49 (I used $1 Kotex printable coupon)
1 Colgate Total $2.99 (I used $1 from April All You)
1 Walgreens Raisins $.99
-I also used $5 RR from previous transaction

Final Price: $1.16
I got back $4.50 RR ($2.50 Kotex, $2 Colgate)
Total Cost: $1.66

I left Walgreens having pretty much broken even (I technically made $.20), but we needed some raisins, so this worked out well for me. I had planned to pick up a few more Nature’s Bounty, but I got the last one. I’ll try a few other stores tomorrow.

Then I ran over to Jewel for a quick trip. I had also planned to buy a Banquet Family Sized Meal and a free Marcal Small Steps paper towel roll, but I couldn’t find any. Maybe Dominick’s has them?

5 Quaker Instant Oatmeal $1.25 each wyb 5 (I used 2 $2/2 from the Value Your Heart booklet and 1 $1 Quaker printable coupon)
2 Dannon Activia $2 each (I used 1 $1 coupon from 3/28 SS – my last one!)
1 Emerald Trail Mix (I used $1 from Preferred Card booklet – no longer available)
1 Bag Red Delicious Apples 3 lb $2 (Used freebie coupon from Preferred Card booklet)
1 Jewel Applesauce $1.49
-I also used $5 Register Rewards

Final Price: $2.19
I got back $2 Your Bucks CAT from Activia
Total Cost: $5.19

I have been playing with the idea of seeing how long I can make my Jewel Refund Rewards gift cards last. I only got 3 this year, but I think next year I’ll get 4. Then I’ll try to see how long they’ll last and if I can make it the whole Jewel year. It shouldn’t be too hard if I can keep up this pace! And really, you guys, this stuff has to be fun. It’s not going to hurt me if I can’t make it, but I like a challenge! Plus, it will help keep me on my toes. kenyit
