This week’s CVS deals had me totally psyched, so I ran out shopping after some family festivities this morning! The one major bummer was that I didn’t get a $4 off $20 CVS coupon from the coupon machine. I scanned my card twice, but nuthin’. Did any of you get one? What I got instead was a $2 Softsoap or Irish Spring Body Wash coupon, making them only $.99. Perhaps they changed the ad from the one I previewed? I’m not sure.
The other thing of note was that my location didn’t have Vanilla Chex, so I supplemented with two Lucky Charms. Here’s what I did:
Transaction #1
2 Lucky Charms Cereal $3 each (Used $1/2 GM coupon, will get $.50 from SavingStar)
Reese’s Puffs Cereal $3 (Used $. 50 Reese’s coupon, will get $.50 from SavingStar)
Always Radiant Infinity $3.99 (Used $2 from 7/7 P&G)
SoftSoap Body Wash $2.99 (Used $2 from Red coupon machine)
Used $4.50 in ECB from last week
Paid $5.98 plus tax, Got $1 ECB from Always, $3 ECB from GM Cereal and $1 from SavingStar
Final Price: $5.48
Transaction #2
4 Pantene Shampoo $3.50 each ($14) (Used 4 B1G1 from 7/7 P&G with Pantene below and 2 $2/2 Pantene coupons)
4 Pantene Conditioner $3.50 each ($14)
2 Dawn Dish Soap $.97 each ($1.94) (Used 2 $.25 from 7/7 P&G)
Used $4 ECB from previous transaction
Paid $7.44 plus tax, Got $5 ECB (!!!!!!!??????)
Final Price: $6.44
WHAT!? I only got $5 in ECB. That has NEVER happened to me before when purchasing under the stated $30 for the Buy $30 in P&G, Get $10 ECB deal. So here’s my thought. I wonder if you have to buy a full $30 for the new deals that we are seeing that say “Buy $20, Get $5 ECB; Buy $30, Get $10 ECB.” Definitely something to watch!!
Transaction #3
Dawn Dish Soap $.97 (no coupon because I didn’t expect to have to buy this!)
Paid $.97 plus tax, Got $5 ECB
Final Price: $4.03 Moneymaker
So all in all, this shop cost me $7.89. Not too shabby for everything I purchased. I’m really happy with it, I have $10 ECB going into next week and hopefully this will give you some ideas!
