There were only a few things that I wanted to shop for this week, but my local newspaper ruined my plan! I had wanted to get five bottles of free Garnier at CVS, but since the Tribune had no $2 Garnier coupons (I’m hearing the Sun Times did get them though!), I had to settle for printing three coupons and doing the free deal at Walgreens instead. That said, if that was the worst thing that happened to me today, three free bottles of shampoo and conditioner is a pretty great bad day! Plus, as a huge bonus, when I scanned my CVS card at the Red Instant Coupon Machine, I received both a $1.50 Extra Care Bucks (that I’d accumulated from my winter spending) and a $5 Extra Care Bucks that I earned from the Beauty Club!
Here is my quarterly plea to you: PLEASE join the CVS Beauty Club. I don’t care if you never buy anything beauty related, do me a personal favor and join. You will notice from my shops that I buy almost no cosmetics or items that I would consider “Beauty” items, but there are many many crossovers. I earn $15-$20 ECB per year from the Beauty Club and I can’t really tell you what gets me that free money. So do me (and yourself!) a favor and join! If you continue to coupon at CVS, you WILL start earning Beauty Club Bucks as well. Plus, you get a bonus ECB every quarter (to thank you for your spending that quarter), so that’s just another perk!
Here’s what I did:
CVS
1 CVS Gas Relief $9.99
Used $10 ECB from previous weeks
Paid $0 plus tax, Got $9.99 ECB
Final Price: Free
Walgreens
3 Garnier Fructis 2/$6 ($9)
1 Sparkling Ice Lemonade $1.50
Used 3 $2 Garnier Fructis printables (no longer available) or $2 from 1/11 RP
Paid $4.50 plus tax, Got 3,000 points and $1.50 Sparkling Ice from SavingStar
Final Price: Free
After all was said and done, I paid nothing for any of the items that I bought and I walked away with a bonus $6.50 in Extra Care Bucks! Thanks for the moneymaker CVS! I hope this gives you some ideas for your shops this week! Happy shopping!
