I have to be honest – I was thrilled that there wasn’t much that I wanted to buy this week at Walgreens! It has truly become such a hassle (as I’m also hearing from you guys!) and I look forward to it less and less each week. That doesn’t mean that I plan to stop shopping there (Free is Free!), but I have to carve an extra half an hour of shop time into my Walgreens visit just to get all the missing coupons added back on! How do they disappear?? Who knows.
As I was shopping today, something occurred to me that I wanted to mention. I shop the deals each week with my family’s needs in mind. My goal is not to get everything for free (which would be nice, but is impossible), but to get everything that we need for the best possible price (or free when possible!). As with things like the Goodnites – unless you find a clearance deal, you’re going to shell out some money. But if I can find a deal where I’m only paying $4.50 or less per package? I’m going to jump! My baby is still night-training and they are expensive!!
With that being said, here’s what I did:
3 Crest Pro-Health Toothpaste 3/$9 (Used $2/3 from 9/1 P&G)
4 Mitchum Deodorant $1.99 each (Used 4 $1 from 9/8 SS)
Paid $10.96, Got $5 RR from Crest AND 2,000 points from Mitchum
Final Price: $3.96
2 SoftSoap Shower Gel 2/$7 (Used 2 $.75 from 9/22 SS)
3 Speed Stick Deodorant $1.99 each (Use 3 $.50 from 9/22 SS)
2 Revlon Buttercream Hair Color 2/$9 (Used 2 $3 from 9/8 SS)
2 Colgate 360 Toothbrushes $2.99 each (Used 2 $1 from 9/8 SS)
3 Huggies Goodnites $9.49 each (Used 3 $2 from 9/22 SS AND $1.50/$5 Baby Item coupon from CVS Coupon Machine)
1 Johnson’s Baby Wash $2.99 (Used $1 Johnson’s printable)
4 Edge Shave Gel $3.49 each (Used 2 B1G1 Edge coupons AND 2 $1 from 8/18 SS)
1 Palmolive $.88 (Used $.50 from 9/22 SS – I truly don’t need any more dish soap, but had to get at least one!)
Used a $5 CVS Gift Card from RecycleBank rewards
Also used $12.79 in ECB from last week
Paid $28.46, Got $10 ECB from Goodnites, $4 ECB from Colgate, $6 ECB from Softsoap/Speed Stick, $4 ECB from Edge and $3 ECB from Revlon
Final Price: $19.25
The entire shop cost me $23.21 (and more accurately $18.21 since the $5 CVS gift card was earned and not bought, so it’s kind of like free money), both of which are less than I would pay for three packages of Goodnites on SALE! I’m thrilled! And I’ve never colored my hair before, so I picked up two random colors. Here’s hoping I picked well, as I plan to give them as gifts to family members! LOL
You may need different items for your family than I do, but hopefully this will give you some ideas of what you can do!
