So, the sad truth is that I never got to shop last week. I was in Atlanta until Monday afternoon and then between my children’s schedules and life, I never made it to the store. While it’s kind of a bummer for me personally, this is a great example of why it’s important to slowly build a stockpile! My not shopping has me missing out on some fun freebies, but ultimately, I have enough in my stockpile that it won’t make a huge difference. Granted, that stockpile has taken me time to build, but if you’re not there yet, keep on going and you will be soon!
This week I was super excited that most of the deals that I wanted to shop were at CVS. I am happy to shop at Walgreens, but it becomes more and more of a pain. Today I insisted that they do two separate transactions of the same exact items just so that I could be sure that my coupons wouldn’t be kicked out of the system. I don’t know what makes the Walgreens register system so difficult, but I was hoping that two manufacturer’s coupons at a time would make things easier. Shopping should not be this difficult! Here’s what I did:
Walgreens
Transaction #1 AND Transaction #2
3 Snickers Peanut Butter Squares 2/$1 w/in-ad coupon (Used B2G1 Snickers coupon)
2 Herbal Essences Hair Spray 2/$5 (Used $3/2 from 9/15 SS
Final Price: $6 plus tax for both transactions (6 Snickers and 4 Herbal total)
At CVS I found out that only the Original Cheerios (not Honey Nut or Multi-Grain) were included in the $1.88 sale. Although there is no SavingStar credit for the Original, $1.38 boxes of cereal is still a great price, so I got some anyway. Also, my CVS only had one of the Oral-B Brush Heads left on the shelf, but there is a limit of 2!! I’ll be searching for another one this week, but if you find two at your store, grab them both!
CVS
1 Ajax Dish Liquid $.88 (Used .39 Ajax from Red Instant Coupon Machine AND $.25 Ajax coupon)
2 Original Cheerios $1.88 each (Used $1/2 Cheerios coupon)
1 Lucky Charms $1.88 (Used $.60 Lucky Charms coupon)
5 Playtex Sport $5.49 each (Used 5 $2 Playtex from 10/6 SS)
1 Oral-B Brush Head 2 ct $5.99 (Used $5 from 9/29 P&G)
Used $21.50 in ECB from previous weeks and quarterly rewards
Paid $1.22 plus tax, Got $10 ECB from Playtex, $2 ECB from Oral-B AND $.50 Lucky Charms from SavingStar
Final Price: $10.22
My total shop today cost $16.22, which is fine with me! Five boxes of Tampons and four bottles of hair spray were $13.45 of it and they will last months. No complaints here! Hopefully this will give you some ideas of what you can do this week. 🙂
