Meijer has updated it’s coupon policy! This actually seems like a good update, as it clarifies what coupons will or won’t be accepted. Here are the highlights:
- Meijer will accept competitor coupons from Food Retailers or Mass Merchandise Retailers.
- Meijer defines Mass Merchandise Retailers as a retail store offering both food and general merchandise/apparel under one roof. Coupons from Club Stores and Dollar Stores will not be accepted.
- Meijer does not accept competitor coupons for beer, wine, liquor, cigarettes, double or triple coupons, clearance, percent off, total transaction discounts, special promotions, gift card promotions, limited quantity items, mail-in rebate offers, and going out of business sales.
You can read the entire policy here. This new policy will basically exclude store coupons from stores like Ace Hardware, Family Dollar and Dollar General, but would include coupons from Jewel, Butera or Target. This policy is in effect now (it started 11/1), but as we all know, not all stores train their cashiers in a timely manner. I would highly suggest carrying this new policy with you if you plan to use those Target coupons. Especially if you’ve had trouble using them in the past!
