Did you know that AMC bought out Kerasotes Theaters? I didn’t find out until today when I went to look up the showtimes at my local theater only to find out it no longer existed in the Metromix listing! That’s when I did a little research. Here’s what I found out –
AMC has purchased the vast majority of Kerasotes Theaters. The Kerasotes icon may remain in current locations, but they are owned by AMC. What does this mean for me, you ask? Luckily, very little.
Starting 6/18, AMC will be offering $5 shows at all movie times before 5PM Monday-Thursday and before noon Friday-Sunday. No Five-Buck Club card necessary.
AMC will honor all outstanding Kerasotes gift cards, but will likely ask you to exchange your current card for an AMC card with the same value. There is no cost for that replacement.
The only major thing that appears to be changing is the loss of the MovieWatcher Rewards program. AMC will be discontinuing this program, but says that they will be looking into other reward possibilities in the future.
For more information, check the Kerasotes website.
If you are thinking about heading out to Kerasotes/AMC, don’t forget to pick up a movie ticket for only $4! It seems that you can only purchase one per person, but something is better than nothing!
