This is news that you need to know! It has been announced that Dollar Tree has purchased the Family Dollar company for 8.5 billion dollars. And I know what you’re asking: what does this mean for us? Here are a few things:
- We don’t yet know if Dollar Tree will turn all the Family Dollar Stores into Dollar Tree stores OR if they will maintain separate names and become one large team of competition. As of now, they are said to be remaining separate.
- The competition that they are now taking on includes stores like Dollar General and Walmart, who is now working very hard to move into the “Dollar Store Wars” and keep their prices comparable.
- Will they still take coupons? I would assume that everything will stay the same at both stores for awhile. It will be big news when and if something changes and I will be sure to tell you about it.
