You guys know that I love to eat out, but what better way to do it than on the cheap?? One of my good girlfriends and I went out to dinner recently and had a fabulous meal for an incredible price with our Restaurant.com gift card! You can buy a $25 gift certificate for between $10-$4 depending on the current sale, so I try to stock up on my favorite restaurants when I can get a great price!
For a little bit of a girls night, my girlfriend and I went to McNamera’s on Irving Park in Chicago for dinner. The husbands and kids all stayed at home, so we had a ball! McNamera’s is a bar as you walk in, but when you turn the corner, you’ll find a restaurant. I’m a fan of pub-style wood decor, as there’s something very relaxing about it to me.
Our server approached the table to answer any of our questions and we each ordered a beer and a plate of buffalo wings to share. I consider myself a connoisseur of wings and this girlfriend and I always order some when we go out! As you can see from the picture, we dove in even before taking our photo! Who could help that??
The wings were great! They were just crispy enough and had the right amount of sauce. The kick was just right for me, but would probably be too much for anyone who has trouble with spice. I would order them again in a heartbeat!
My girlfriend ordered a bacon & mushroom burger with veggies on the side and I ordered a chicken sandwich with mushroom & avocado with fries. We were both very happy with our meals. As you can see from the photos, there was a healthy serving of each topping we ordered and the portions were quite large. We sat there for awhile so we kept nibbling, but you could probably be satisfied enough to take half of your plate home for lunch the next day – especially if you order an appetizer and drinks!
When our bill arrived, I was truly surprised by what a fantastic deal we got with our Restaurant.com gift card. Keep in mind that we really didn’t skimp at all with our three alcoholic beverages, appetizer and two entrees with extra toppings! Our total after discount? $22.34!! We left a total of $32 (please tip on the total before the discount!!), so we had a fantastically fulfilling meal for only $16 each! Seriously, that’s hard to beat!
As always, think about using a Restaurant.com gift card when you go out! Some restaurants have restrictions, but I have never found one that I thought unreasonable. They can’t let you eat for free, but if you’re saving half off a great meal? It’s totally worth it!
