One of the challenges that I have as a mom is figuring how to keep my children busy and entertained. Sometimes you have to get things done around the house and all they want to do is play Barbies or build Lego houses. This is usually a fantastic thing, but it can be a challenge when they each want to do their activity with you! Duncan Hines has recently come out with their new Frosting Creations. This set will let you get your jobs in the kitchen accomplished AND get your kids involved!
My kids and spent a little time in our kitchen baking a cake last weekend. We love Duncan Hines cakes, so we got that together fairly quickly. After putting it in the oven to bake, we broke out the Frosting Creations Starter as well as the Flavor Packet. We made Strawberry Shortcake, but the best part about this set is that you can have 15 different flavors on-hand and choose what fits for the occasion! You keep a few of the Starter Kits in your cupboard and you’re good to go!
To make the frosting, you make a deep hole in the middle of the Starter Kit. Pour your packet in the hole and then stir. Our frosting mixed extremely easily and only took a minute or two to get the entire batch smooth. I liked the fact that we could do it right in the original container – no additional dishes needed.
After frosting our cake, we had to decorate it. And what does every pink strawberry shortcake frosted cake need on top? A Dark Vader candle of course!
I really liked the idea of having the Frosting Creations in my cabinet along with a few different flavor packets. That way you always have a selection to choose from and you don’t have to worry about running out to the store at the last minute.
