Wow, this is big! Safeway has decided to sell off or let go of all 72 Dominick’s locations in the Chicagoland area. They have not been pulling in enough profit (I just Just For U didn’t do it for them – shock) and have decided that the best choice is to cut and run. This change will happen as soon as possible, as they’re reporting that they’d like to be out by the end of this calendar year. It appears that they are looking to sell Dominick’s stores to anyone who will buy (in bulk or piecemeal), so if you’ve ever wanted your own grocery store, give a call over to Safeway!
