Have you heard of Dollar Shave Club? I hadn’t heard of it until recently, but I’m really impressed with this program! Here is how it works:
Each month Dollar Shave Club will mail 5 of their Gillette Sensor-compatible “Ninja Blade” cartridges right to your door. The program comes with the stick for your razor and everything is very high quality. I can tell you this because they were a Social Soiree sponsor and I got to try them out myself!
There are three plans available:
- 24 Month Plan: 120 Razor Cartridges for $30 Shipped (includes a one time $6 flat shipping fee, making them only $.25 per cartridge)
- 12 Month Plan: 60 Razor Cartridges for $24 Shipped (includes a one time $6 flat shipping fee, making them only $.40 per cartridge)
- Month To Month Plan (for the commitment-phobic shaver): 5 Cartridges for $1.99 + $2 in shipping (each month that you choose to continue this plan)
I’ve thought about this program a lot and here’s the thing – I am a couponer. I know what kind of deals I can get on razors. I am also a working stay-at-home mother of two who has to drive to the store and clip coupons to get a cheap razor that I then have to pay crazy tax on (which may not be an issue here depending on your state). This is a great option for those of you who don’t like dealing with Register Rewards and Extra Care Bucks. The fact of the matter is that when we do our deals, they are not free up front. We know how to roll our coupons, but the initial cost is higher. This plan is a great way to get around it.
My suggestion to you is to try it out for a month (if you don’t want to commit to more right away). There is typically a $9.99 one-time membership fee, but for a very limited time (seriously, this will go away!), they are waiving the fee! And once you’ve ordered anything through them, you are a member – therefore, no fee ever! Great deal!
