My kids LOVE lemonade. Love love love love love lemonade. They would drink it morning, noon and night if I let them. And while I don’t mind the occasional glass when we go out to eat or at a friend’s house, I try not to have any in the house because it’s just too much sugar. My son likes to say that he also loves diet pop (which he’s tried once – thanks grandma and grandpa!) and orange or lemon-lime pop (which I now allow him to have at parties when it’s served). That being the case, it can be kind of tough for them to get variety in their beverages other than milk and water. I get that that can be boring.
Recently I got the chance to review Cascade Ice Zero-Calorie Sparkling Flavored Water. I will be honest, I’d never seen it on the shelf at the store or anywhere else, so I was super curious. I am NOT a fan of sparkling water in general (even with juice added – I’ve tried!), but I do like my pop. I just know that it’s not that good for me!
The flavors I was sent included Raspberry Currant, Pomegranate Berry, Peach Mango, Blueberry Watermelon and McIntosh Apple. I am a big berry person, so I popped open the Pomegranate Berry right away. Oh. My. Goodness. So good!! This variety will now have a permanent place in my fridge! (Especially since now I know they’re carried at Jewel and Mariano’s). It leaves a sweet aftertaste in your mouth and is full of berry goodness. (I’ve never wanted to take a photo of a flavor like I do right now!). The McIntosh Apple tastes like a flavorful carbonated apple juice. Also very good. My kids were big fans.
The one flavor that we couldn’t agree on as a family was the Blueberry Watermelon. Now don’t get me wrong, I love watermelon and I can’t live without blueberries, but I wasn’t a fan. My kids on the other-hand LOVED it. They spent the entire time telling me how wrong I was. If you enjoy watermelon flavored gum, this will work for you. It tastes much more like watermelon than blueberry, so it will likely be your favorite! I’ll stick with the Pomegranate Berry and the kids will keep their Blueberry Watermelon. AND they’ll have something additional to occasionally add to their beverage selection!
