Calling All Kmart Shoppers! – What’s The Deal?

I have my issues with Kmart. I love love love Super Doubles and will continue to shop it until the cows come home, BUT I always seem to have a problem with their store cash register coupons and CAT’s. Can someone tell me what the deal is? I have asked the employees and managers, but they don’t seem to know. So I will turn to the real authorities on the matter – You!

Here’s the deal: During the last few CAT deals for P&G I have purchased Huggies with Super Doubles. A week or so later (but long before expiration!) I head to Kmart to use my CAT. I am not a frequent Kmart shopper, so I usually wait until there is another deal there that I want to take part in (like the awesome Snuggle freebie!). But without fail, my CAT beeps and will not go through! At the Kmart I used to shop at they would tell me “too bad for you” and make me pay for the things I was going to purchase with the CAT. I usually asked them to take those things off my order. Today at my new Kmart, they were much nicer and the manager ended up entering it manually.

But what’s the Kmart deal? I don’t know Kmart as well as I know the other stores and the only thing I can pick out is the use of coupons during the transaction, but that is a little odd if that’s the cause. I have always had at least a slight OOP expense after figuring in the CAT, so it’s not that the purchase was too small. Does anyone else have this problem?
