I know you read that title and thought, “Healthy Ice Cream?” Well, I’m here to tell you that as ice cream goes, Arctic Zero fits that bill! This ice cream is made with 14 grams of whey protein, is all-natural, fat-free, high fiber, gluten-free, low glycemic, non-GMO, kosher, no sugar alcohols and less than 150 calories per pint. Yes, I said it. Less than 150 calories per PINT. It comes in tons of great flavors including chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, coffee, cookies & cream, mint chocolate cookie, strawberry banana, and vanilla maple. Even better, the 85 calorie Bars come in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry or orange cream.
I recently got to try many of the flavors I listed above and since I’m a REALLY nice person, I shared some with my family. I gave each of my kids their own pint and then ran for the ice cream bars. My kids both enjoyed their flavors (cookies & cream and strawberry), but they said that they missed having pieces of cookie or strawberry in their product. I can totally understand that as I enjoy the pieces myself, but when you’re talking about 150 calories per pint, I understand why they can’t be included. I ate the orange cream bar that day and enjoyed it. It’s a thin layer of chocolate on the outside of the majority of the bar, but it’s more than enough to satisfy your chocolate craving. The orange cream was tasty, but I wished it had a slightly more orangey flavor. Again, I’m used to the ice cream that has 850 calories (or whatever), so it took me a minute to appreciate the lighter touch. The next day I had a chocolate covered vanilla bar and loved it. In fact, I had another one today (don’t judge me – they’re 85 calories each!!) Those I plan to stock up on! Delicious and totally satisfying. I haven’t tried the Chocolate on Chocolate, but that’s next for sure!
Arctic Zero products are sold all over the country, so take a look and find out where they are sold near you. They seem to be sold at all Whole Foods in the Chicagoland area, so I’m assuming that it is available nationally at Whole Foods as well.
