Could they not have waited until 2014 to spring this on us? Amazon has increased their free shipping price from a $25 minimum order to a $35 minimum order. Here is what they have to say:
Amazon’s minimum order size for free shipping has changed to $35. This is the first time in more than a decade that Amazon has altered the minimum order for free shipping in the US. During that time, we have expanded free shipping selection by millions of items across all 40 product categories. Look for “FREE Shipping” on product pages to discover eligible items.
What are your thoughts on their change? Do you think it will make them less competitive this season and in future years? The one thing I can tell you (and I’ve mentioned it before) is that I am an Amazon Prime Member. They are offering a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime if you want to try it out, but I have paid to be a member for… 5 years I think? It is SO incredibly worth it to me. I see a deal and I buy it. I never have to worry about a minimum shipping order and my package arrives in two days. I buy birthday gifts on Tuesday that I need for Saturday and I know I’ll have them in plenty of time. I can shop at night in my PJ’s and I’ve saved myself the stress of a minimum order or having to drive somewhere to shop. I am a thrifty person and try to only pay for household items that that I deem necessary and in complete truth, my husband and I swear my Amazon Prime. If you order from Amazon as often as I do (easily once or twice per week), it will be worth it to you too.
