If you are a Judd Apatow movie fan, you’ve got to see This Is 40. I watched it last night with my husband and we laughed the whole way through! Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann and Melissa McCarthy are fantastic and the daughters are both excellent. I know that it’s a little odd to day that you see realism in a film like this, but I really did. Some of the reactions the parents have to their family situation, children and other moments felt like they were so close to home. I just loved it! Sometimes it’s nice to know that you’re not alone in those moments AND that they are really funny when you watch them from a different perspective! I highly recommend checking it out!
This is 40 was an Apatow production through and through in all senses – Judd had his wife and two daughters star in it! Here, Fox Entertainment gives a rundown of some other famous Hollywood families who have worked together on the big screen.
Tom and Colin Hanks, and Rita Wilson
Tom Hanks and his wife, actress Rita Wilson, have worked on numerous projects together, including Bosom Buddies, Volunteers, and That Thing You Do! Tom’s son, Colin, has also joined Tom and Rita for a few projects, including That Thing You Do!, Band of Brothers, and The Great Buck Howard.
Joan and John Cusack
Joan and John Cusack are one of Hollywood’s favorite and most beloved sets of siblings! The pair have worked on numerous films together, including classics like Say Anything and Sixteen Candles, Gross Pointe Blank and High Fidelity.
Jon Voight and Angelina Jolie
Despite having a sometimes-strained relationship, Angelina Jolie and her father, Jon Voight have shared a few memorable on screen moments. Voight played her father on screen in 2001’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. Additionally, when Angelina was only seven years old, she had a small part in Lookin’ To Get Out, a film that her father co-wrote and starred in!
Ben and Jerry Stiller, Anne Meara and Christine Taylor
Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara aren’t just an awesome comedy duo, they’re also Ben Stiller’s parents! Ben is married to actress Christine Taylor, and the four of them have worked on quite a few films together over the years. Most notably, all four appeared in Zoolander. Ben, Jerry and Anne all appeared together in Heavyweights, and Ben and Christine in DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story.
Will, Jada, Jaden and Willow Smith
The Smith family is very involved with and supportive of each other’s careers! Jaden starred alongside Will as his son in The Pursuit of Happyness, had a cameo in Men in Black II, and will be costarring alongside his dad once again in the upcoming film, After Earth. Jaden was also in his sister, Willow’s, music video for “Whip My Hair!”
