We are huge movie buffs in my family. My mother and I have been going to the movies together on my birthday for many years and I regularly take my son to the movies on dates (my daughter is more into princess dates right now). If there’s a new kid’s movie out, you bet mine will want to see it. So when I heard about these three movies coming out on DVD, I wanted to check them out.
My son (my 6-year old partner in crime) watched each of these with me and wanted to let you know what he thought as well.
A Turtle’s Tale: Sammy’s Adventures is a story about a turtle named Sammy who you follow over the fifty years of his life. You meet him as a hatchling and watch as he grows and searches for the turtle love he saved when they were tiny turtles. The think I was most impressed by with this movie was the music and the cast. This movie includes the voices or Anthony Anderson, Tim Curry, Kathy Griffin and more! My only issue was that it was a bit more political than some of the other movies we’ve watched.
The Garfield Show: Dinosaurs and Other Animal Adventures is your classic Garfield type movie. Any Garfield lover should check it out. My son says, “My favorite part was when the fish did karate. That was the funniest of all of the other parts. Other kids should watch it because it’s very very very funny.”
Mile In His Shoes is a movie based on a true story about a baseball coach who happens upon a very talented pitcher who has autism. It was probably our favorite of the three movies and my son asked to watch it again as soon as it ended. My son says, “My favorite part was the end, but I can’t tell you what happens. You need to watch it!”
