Wanna Know About Me?

I’m not all that good at talking about myself. I’m great at talking deals, meeting new people, and listening to people’s problems, but I’ve never been good at creating a description of myself. I’ve thought and thought, but I’ve decided to do this a little bit differently. Here are some of the things that make me up. I’ll let you draw whatever conclusions you want about the rest. :)

  • I was born and raised a Chicago girl – first with a 312 area code and then a 773. Never looking to change that.
  • I am a product of the Chicago Public School system and have gone on to do many intelligent things.
  • I spent many of my high-school days in long skirts, tights, and combat boots.
  • When I was in college, I spent every Friday and Saturday night for two years performing with an Improv troupe. Either at our home theater or traveling around Illinois.
  • I graduated with a degree in Psychology and spent several amazing years working in the mental health system. Loved every minute of it.
  • I had a tie-dye cake at my wedding and was barefoot the entire day.
  • I got my MBA and used it to be a stay-at-home mom.
  • I am now raising my two fantastic children in Chicago with my wonderful husband.
  • I think that couponing is a game that benefits us in ways that we don’t even know. Forget Sudoku for brain exercises. Try couponing!
  • I honestly love doing this and thank you all for hanging out with me every day. It wouldn’t be any fun without you.

Hello! Nice to know more about you!!!

I was 312 when it was still city/suburban wide. Now I am 708. If I had made it through college, psych would have been my major. I currently have a son in college who will graduate with a BS in psych.

A tie dye cake sounds so cool!!! I had a very low key wedding. I wore shoes but my wedding was in my dad’s backyard.

I’ve been a stay at home mom since I had kids. My oldest is 21 and a third year at a college in 312 area. My younger son is 15 and is a sophomore in high school. I have been married to the man of my dreams for 22 years.

I am an occasional couponer. Though I may not do a lot of couponing I appreciate all the work you put into it. I really appreciate freebie links and magazine deals that you post!!!

My best suggestion is just to write about what you enjoy. I think that people can really tell – I always could. I love doing this and I think people know it. Best of luck and I hope you have a great time with it!

This was one of my favorite “About Me” posts I’ve ever read. Maybe it was the tie-dye cake…

I did a series early on about mystery shopping. I used to do it a lot before I had kids, although it’s gotten harder for me to do more recently. You can find a bunch of companies and tips here
http://www.couponingfor4.net/page/2/?s=mystery+shopping

and check the posts that are older than that too. Use volition.com to give you a heads up about other mystery shopping companies that are legit as well. Good luck and I hope that helps!! :)

I just wanted to thank you for all that you do. I consider myself still new to couponing, and with your site have learned a lot. I was born and raised in Chicago ( Lakeview) area. Now I enjoy your site living out in Woodstock Il.
Thanks again,

A big THANK YOU from the 847! We’re not from here…we moved here from 701…you’ll have to Google it. That’s right…it covers the WHOLE STATE baby! LOL! I’m a new SAHM because we just had our second set of twins in March. I love your site…it’s easy to use and relevant to where we live! The daily emails are awesome…you have your own folder. :-)

Thanks so much for your kind words and welcome to Chicago! Other than the frigid weather at the moment and the lack of stores that double coupons, this is a fantastic place to live. And I’m flattered that I have my own folder! *blushing* :)

Just catching up on your site and thinking I am a real greenie at couponing. I have 6 kids, half of which are still at home and we are really looking for some deals out there now especially with husband’s work doing cuts. I am looking for all kinds of savings advice so HERE I AM..your newest “student”. (youd think I would have had experience being frugal for the past 30 years raising kids…but never got hard into the couponing part of savings. Its TIME I learn!). I hail from across the border a couple hours away in Wisconsin! Nice to “meet” ya!

So I’m watching this Mr. Coupon video on YouTube where he’s interviewing bloggers at a convention and I’m thinking to myself that sure looks like somebody I know! I was 90% sure but now that I’ve read your ‘About Me’ section I am 99.9% sure! I wonder if you remember me – it’s been a long time. There’s some pictures on my blog if that helps jog your memory :)

I do (as you now know!). LOL It is a very small world! When you left this comment, I was having problems getting notices about my comments (for a few days), so I never saw it. It’s great to hear from you! :)

Sure loved your “About Me” biography. Just wish you lived in my area so I could access your grocery store match-ups! Thanks for all that you do for all the couponers.

Probably one of the best About me pages I’ve read so far on the web. I like your About me page because it is simple and to the point. Love Psychology and Chicago too.

And I love you are posting the hottest deals I’ve seen. Thanks!

P.S.: the legs are yours?

Reply

30 Alli January 22, 2012 at 7:52 pm

Thanks so much! No, they aren’t my legs, but that is the nail polish color that I usually choose. :)

31 Jessie January 24, 2012 at 10:49 am

@Alli I love the nail polish color. I’ll be back for more deals.
