Ah, CVS – how I love thee! I was talking about this with a friend yesterday – don’t they all smell the same? It’s so funny. The thing I love about CVS is that their policies are their policies and there’s usually no “discussion” about coupons with the cashier. It makes shopping there so much more mellow than some other (*achem* Walgreens) stores.
Anyway, as I was headed out the door to CVS today, my husband told me that he needed new shaving gel. I try not to be brand loyal, but he doesn’t like what I got him last and he needed it for tomorrow. Okay, so I did the best that I could with what I had! There was no time to run to Walgreens to do the Edge deal, so sometimes you wing it! Here’s what I did:
Transaction #1
Gillette Venus Razor $6.99 (we have higher prices in Chicago!) (Used $5 from 6/16 RP)
Cinnamon Toast Crunch $2.49 (Used $.50 from CVS Machine and $.60 here, here or here)
Total: $3.38 plus tax
Used $3 ECB that I had from last week
Paid $.38, Got $4 ECB from Venus AND will get $.50 from SavingStar (CTC Cereal)
Final Price: $1.12 Moneymaker (not including tax)
Transaction #2
2 Colgate MaxFresh Toothpaste $2.99 each ($5.98) (Used $2/2 Colgate coupon)
2 Edge Shave Gel $3.49 each ($6.98) (Used B1G1 here and $.55 from 6/23 SS)
Total: $7.41 plus tax
Used $4 ECB from previous transaction
Paid $3.41, Got $4 ECB from two Colgate deals
Final Price: $3.41 (not including tax)
So after all was said and done, I spent $2.29 plus tax on everything above. I’m good with that! And I had $4 ECB to roll into my shop next week. I hope this gives you some ideas!
