Well, we knew the changes were coming. Your Bucks has sent out an email that states (products taken from the Your Bucks site):
“Unfortunately, during this period of learning, some offers are being abused by a very small group of shoppers which is forcing us to modify the following three offers:
- Buy any 1 (One) or more Ragu Pasta sauce 26oz or larger – $1.00
- Buy any 2 (Two) or more Suave® product excluding trial or travel size – $1.00
- Buy any 1 (One) or more Degree® Anti-perspirant/Deodorant item excluding trial or travel size – $1.00
Please know this is not a decision we take lightly. And, we apologize that you are being impacted due to the questionable actions of so few.”
There are going to be a lot of opinions about this email. Mine is that Jewel and their affiliates are very smart and usually quite tactful. I am not one of the shoppers who bought 40 products in one visit, but there are some people who did. I am not going to speak on whether or not I believe in purchasing that kind of quantity, but what I will say is that Jewel and affiliates could have added a limit and didn’t. They may not have expected this kind of response, but they did know the pricing in their stores and I don’t believe it was correct for them to blame the change on “the questionable actions of so few.” That is just my humble opinion.
The other Your Bucks deals still seem to be active and working.
