My Dominick’s Shop And Why You HAVE To Load Your E-Coupons

by Alli on December 19, 2009

I went to Dominick’s today because we were running out of a few big things that matched their sales. I’m not a HUGE Dominick’s shopper (I go to Jewel much more), but there are definitely certain advantages to shopping there.

Here’s what I did

2 Betty Crocker Boxed Potatoes (we don’t typically use these, but they are good in a pinch)
1 Betty Crocker Frosting
2 Betty Crocker Cake Mix
3 Froot Loops
6 Kraft Mac ‘N Cheese
4 Caffeine Free Diet Coke
1 Fresca
1 Charmin 24 pk
2 Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
2 Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls
2 Gallons of Milk
2 Go-Gurt
2 Huggies Overnights
5 Sweet Potatoes
1 5 lb bag Russet Potatoes

Before I say anything further, I want to show you what came off. This is why you HAVE to load your e-Coupons!
I loaded my Celfire, Shortcuts, and P&G earlier this week and added a few new ones before I left today. The thing about the first two programs is that of the coupons STAY on your card from month to month. You may not see them on your list, but they are there. That is why I always say to load the coupons even if you have no intention of using them. You never know what’s going to happen!!

Here’s what came off
-$2 Boxed Potatoes (making me $.15 on one box)
-$2.50 Betty Crocker Cake Mix (making me $.50)
-$2 Betty Crocker Frosting (making me $.31)
-$1 Charmin
-$1.50 Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
-$2 Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls
-$5.50 Huggies

THEN I used my coupons

$5/$50 from Entertainment Book
I had a raincheck making the Mac ‘N Cheese 6/$2
$1 Charmin in-ad coupon
$2/$10 Charmin store coupon from mailer
$4 Pampers in-ad coupon (this wasn’t in my insert, but it was in the store inserts.)
$2 Froot Loops store coupon from mailer
$2.50 free Russett Potatoes coupon
$.35 Betty Crocker Potatoes coupon
$.50 Betty Crocker Frosting coupon
$.25 Charmin coupon
$1/3 Pillsbury products from mailer coupon
$.25 Crescent Rolls coupon
$2/2 Froot Loops coupon
2 $1.50 Huggies coupons
$.75/2 Go-Gurt

Final Price: $40.04
Between the sales and all the avenues for different coupons, I saved 70%.

Will I use all of the free potatoes that I got? I’m not sure – we’re more of a rice and pasta family. But if I don’t, there is always someone who will.
