We’ve all heard of the Nielsen Ratings for television, but did you know that they are interested in purchasing patterns as well? Nielsen Home Scanner is a program that rewards you for letting them in on your purchases. It is a very exclusive panel and they only allow new applications periodically and in certain areas. I was selected years ago, but had a newborn at the time and didn’t want anything else on my plate. Am I frustrated about that now!
The way the panel works is this: Nielsen sends all accepted applicants a scanner. You are required to scan all purchased products throughout the week and submit them to Nielsen. You are then rewarded in points which earn you products! It’s that easy.
I have been applying periodically over the last two years and they are still not accepting applications in my area. Maybe they’ll be accepting them in yours!
